Asparagus and egg noodle delight

My favorite foods I make are definantly the ones where the kids gobble it down, ask for more, then thank me for making it! This is one of those!

I did pull this out of nowhere lol! I needed to use the asparagus before it went bad and came up with this amazing recipe!

So let’s talk about asparagus! It’s loaded with nutrients: Asparagus is a very good source of fiber, folate, vitamins A, C, E and K, as well as chromium, a trace mineral that enhances the ability of insulin to transport glucose from the bloodstream into cells.

This herbaceous plant—along with avocado, kale and Brussels sprouts—is a particularly rich source of glutathione, a detoxifying compound that helps break down carcinogens and other harmful compounds like free radicals. This is why eating asparagus may help protect against and fight certain forms of cancer, such as bone, breast, colon, larynx and lung cancers.

Asparagus is packed with antioxidants, ranking among the top fruits and vegetables for its ability to neutralize cell-damaging free radicals. This, according to preliminary research, may help slow the aging process.

You need:

  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tbs flour
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup egg noodles or noodles of your. Choice
  • Pinch of garlic powder, basil, and oregano
  • As much trimmed asparagus as desired.

I boiled the egg noodles according to the package for 8 minutes. 4 minutes in I added the asparagus to the boiling pot!

After 8 minutes i drained the pasta and asparagus and set them aside.

Then in a skillet over medium heat I added the butter. Once melted I cranked up the heat and added the chicken broth, milk, and flour. Sprinkled in the seasoning. I let boil until it reduced and started to look more like gravy. Maybe 5 minutes.

I then i turned the heat down to a simmer and added the noodles and asparagus to the skillet. I mixed it up and it was ready to serve!

Tomorrow I will cook some chicken breast and add them to my creation! Instant yuuum!
